This is one of trickiest shore dives in Sydney due to its difficult entry/exit, which require perfect conditions. We were lucky to have these conditions last weekend! The underwater scenery is a mix of canyons and walls (like North Bondi) and boulders with sponges and corals (like the deep part of Shark Point). Among other critters, we saw a very active Spotted Wobbegong (Orectolobus maculatus), a couple of Giant Cuttlefish (Sepia apama), and huge schools of One Spot Puller (Chromis hypsilepis), which followed us around for a while. Thanks to my buddies Nadine, Fiona, and Ben for the great dive!!! Burke manages to send a message to Michael Weyland from Weyland-Yutani confirming the existence of the xenomorph species. Weyland sends the advanced research transport spacecraft WYS Legato to LV-426 with a cargo of human colonists kept in cryostasis to be used as hosts to the xenomorphs. However, the Legato arrives just after the destruction of Hadley's Hope and the departure of the USS Sulaco. After investigating the coordinates of the Alien Derelict the corporates discover the ruins of the craft and harvest several xenomorph eggs and begin experimenting with the colonists. They also pinpoint the location of the USS Sulaco through the network and the Colony's computer logs, sending the Legato to intercept the cruiser. Eleven days later, the corporates connect their ship with the Sulaco, but a xenomorph outbreak takes place in the Legato. Colonist Lisbeth Hutchins awakens and finds a fellow colonist called Ethan during the chaos. While Ethan tells Lisbeth of the situation, a chestburster erupts from his chest, killing him. Unarmed and confused Lisbeth makes her way through the infested ship, watching corporate PMCs murdering infected colonists. Another colonist called Andrews helps Lisbeth but is killed by a xenomorph. Finally Lisbeth finds ex-Colonial Marine Stone and Turk, two colonists who go with her until the exit port of the ship. There Lisbeth separates to search for her parents while Stone and Turk board the Sulaco to search for military help. Lisbeth finds both her parents dead and begins to feel sick, realizing that she was impregnated with a xenomorph. Just before dying she manages to self-destruct the Legato by taking the ship's coolant system offline. Stone and Turk manage to arrive at the cryostasis section of the Sulaco, where they find Rebecca "Newt" Jorden, Ellen Ripley and Dwayne Hicks sleeping. While awakening, Corporal Hicks watches a facehugger already attached to Ripley's face. Three Weyland-Yutani PMCs enter the area and during the fight one of the corporates fires his weapon and grazes Ripley's facehugger, which bursts acidic blood that burns both her cryotube and the floor, causing an electrical fire and activating the ship's alarm. During the alarm Turk is knocked unconscious by one of the PMCs, who throws him inside Hicks's cryotube. It closes immediately and is ejected out of cryostasis by the ship's computer, along with Newt and Ripley's cryotubes, sending them to Fury 161 inside an EEV. After killing the remaining PMCs and fighting several xenomorphs inside the vessel, Stone and Hicks escape the Sulaco using a service skiff craft and set course to Fury 161 to rescue Turk, Newt and Ripley, taking them two days to finally arrive. They both witness Ripley's death after she throws herself into a molten pit and are captured by Michael Weyland and several PMCs, who take them back to LV-426 in the still infested Sulaco. Fourteen weeks later, while in captivity inside the Origin installation near the Alien Derelict, Weyland demands both of them to give him the code for a recorded distress call that Hicks intended to sent to the USCM forces, but didn't manage to. After Stone denies any knowledge of such message he is executed by one of the PMCs. Hicks is chemically tortured for information while Weyland boasts how the colonists and human life in general are of little concern to him. While doing this a Weyland-Yutani scientist named Rick Levy rebels and rescues Hicks while keeping Weyland and his PMCs at bay at gunpoint. Another xenomorph infestation occurs inside the caverns near the Origin complex. Amidst the chaos Levy and Hicks fight their way until they finally arrive at a communications relay station and manage to send part of Hicks's distress call, which is picked up by the US Colonial Marines.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is a first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by Sega. The game is set in the Alien universe and takes place after the events of the third film in the franchise, Alien 3 (1992). The game is the second Alien title that Sega has produced: the first being Aliens Infestation (2011). The game was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles and for Microsoft Windows on February 12, 2013. A Wii U version was being produced for release but was eventually cancelled on April 5, 2013. Aliens: Colonial Marines is a first-person shooter which puts the player in the role of a United States Colonial Marine named Cpl. Christopher Winter. The player has access to iconic weapons from the movie such as the flamethrower, pulse rifle, smartgun, shotgun, pistol, and robotic sentry turrets. Players are also able to use welding torches to seal doors and motion trackers to detect unseen enemies. Initially it was announced that the game would involve squad-based gameplay, allowing the player to issue orders to AI-controlled marines using context-sensitive commands. However, Gearbox later revealed that this feature was dropped to make gameplay more accessible. Aliens: Colonial Marines was originally planned to have no HUD to provide the player with onscreen information. Gameplay types have been described as "Gauntlet Runs", where players must fight enemies as they travel from point A to point B, and "Last Stand" moments, where players must defend a specific area by welding doors and/or setting up automated sentry turrets. The players gain experience points when dominating enemies and completing certain objectives. These experience points allow players to customize the appearance of their character, purchase upgrades for weapons, and unlock other skill sets, all of which carry over to other gameplay modes. The primary enemies of the game are the xenomorphs from the first three films, which include the "Facehugger" and "Drone" alien from Alien, the "Warrior" and the "Queen" aliens from Aliens, also as the "Runner" alien from Alien 3. The "Crusher" alien is an original enemy, which was revealed in the E3 2011 Walkthrough demo. Another original enemy, the "Boiler" alien, is a variant capable of self-exploding and covering its enemies with molecular acid. It was revealed in the tactical multiplayer trailer. Aliens: Colonial Marines features a campaign with many dynamic drop-in/drop-out cooperative multiplayer for up to four players online or two players locally via split screen. Described as a true sequel to James Cameron's film, the story of Aliens: Colonial Marines takes place nearly 17 weeks after the events of Alien 3 and almost 199 years prior to the events of Alien: Resurrection, as the cryotubes containing Ellen Ripley, Corporal Hicks, Newt, and the android Bishop had ejected from the Sulaco. At PAX East 2012, Gearbox Software's Community Manager confirmed that the game is considered an official part of the Alien franchise's canon by 20th Century Fox. Much of the main plot was written by Battlestar Galactica writers Bradley Thompson and David Weddle. The story is told through the eyes of Corporal Christopher Winter, a Colonial Marine who is part of a search and rescue team sent to investigate the U.S.S. Sulaco in search of Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, and the rest of the missing marines who were dispatched to LV-426. The Sulaco, and the derelict alien spacecraft from Aliens as well as LV-426 itself will all serve as environments in the game, as well as other locations. Gearbox Software has stated that they were invited to speak with Ridley Scott and view the script for his Alien prequel Prometheus, insinuating that there may be connections or references to the events of Prometheus in Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Check out my 1080p walkthrough with the TemplarGFX mod: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRyUlBzVoKxX2KoLubpr6FOcHqYU2Crg2 This mission requires a bit of stealth, and it may be the longest mission in the game. You will have no weapons, and a big Xenomorph is in the room nearby. Sneak over to the glowing panel to escape. Follow the path to the next room, but watch out for the Xenomorph that will bust through the top every now and then. When you reach the next room, run into the vent at the other end. Make sure you crouch to fit inside. The vent will lead out to the sewers. Use the switches on the right to open the door to the next area. The new Xeno Boilers will be all over. If one wakes up and gets close, stand perfectly still until it goes away. Continue down the sewers until you reach the drainage pump. You can activate it to draw the Boilers off of you, killing them in the process. Keep going down the path to the right until you see a doll's head on some garbage. Walk next to it to get the Mostly Come at Night... achievement / trophy. Up ahead are several more boilers around a steel grate platform. Slowly make your way to the switch in the middle of the platform to activate another sewage pump. Doing this will draw all of them to it, killing them in the process. With the area clear, cut open the door to the left. The next room has two more Boilers near a door. Jump across the broken cat walk to another switch. Activating the switch will draw the Xenos attention and kill them, leaving you free to cut open the door. After a short conversation with O'Neal, continue through the sewers. More Boilers will be all around a staircase and room. Either take the stairs up to the second level, or wait for the door nearby to open. You're almost to O'Neal and all your supplies, but the big Xeno is back. Cut open and weld shut all the doors until you reach the elevator. Take it to O'Neal who is holding your supplies. Through the first door is the Legendary Weapon - Hudson's Pulse Rifle. It's located on the floor of a smaller room. Exit out the building to a wide-open area. A horde of Xenomorphs will come and attack. Stay close to O'Neal and clear the area. Before moving on, use your Tracking Monitor to find a set of Dog Tags on top of a shipping crate nearby. Bella will come by when everything is clear. Help her save Reid from more Xenos to progress. With the group together, reach the uplink. Cover Reid as she repairs the link while Xenos attack. Make sure you have armor and ammo! After the big wave of Xenos passes, the big Xeno will come back and chase Bella. Follow it while taking out more Xenomorphs on the way. Not far is another set of Dog Tags in front of a sealed door. Follow O'Neal to the rendezvous point. You two will head through a small garage where the last set of Dog Tags are. Pick them up from beneath the stairs. Bella and Reid will be at the other end of the garage. Stay on your toes, two Lurkers will come out and try to pounce. Kill the Lurkers, then head out to find O'Neal. Outside is the big Xeno that kept coming for you. If you stand out in the open, it will kill you with one hit. Run to cover and hit it from the sides. A few more smaller Xenos will come out every now and then to distract you. When in a safe place, look for armor and ammo. Keep running and dodging from area to area until you reach the Powerloader where O'Neal is hiding. Before getting inside, grab the Armor and Health Kit nearby. When ready, use the Powerloader to lay the smacketh down on the Raven (Big Xeno). If you can defeat the Raven in 1:30 on Soldier (Normal) difficulty or higher, you'll get the Heavy Lifting achievement / trophy.

Eventually, you'll reach a big room with W-Y PMCs firing from a room at an elevated position. Take cover behind anything you can to pick them off one by one. Fight to the upper floor where the PMCs are heaviest. If you can't get a good shot, use explosives! Clear them out and look on the far side of the room for a pair of Dog Tags on a console. The mission continues with more linear paths and a few W-Y PMCs here and there. Keep fighting until you reach another room with more W-Y thugs. On a few boxes on the right side of the entrance is the last collectible, an Audio Log. Clear the room of any PMCs. Across the big, red path is an enemy soldier decked out in armor. Fire in short bursts for accurate hits, or use the grenade launcher. When he's taken care of, open the door on the right via the computer nearby. Stay on your toes, more PMCs are right through the door. Further ahead are a few auto turrets. Do not even attempt to destroy these head on! Get around their backsides to disable them with a simple press of a button. Make your way to the bridge to disable the ship's weapons. More W-Y PMCs will try to stop you, and another auto-turret will be at the top of the stairs. Duck from cover to cover as you fight your way towards the ship's bridge. When you get close enough, use the side rooms to flank and disable the turrets. Using the keyboard on the bridge will complete the mission.

Aliens vs. Predator is a first-person shooter video game developed by Rebellion, the team behind the 1999 original Microsoft Windows game and published by Sega for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is based on the Alien vs. Predator franchise, a combination of the characters and creatures of the Alien franchise and the Predator franchise. There are three campaigns in the game, one for each race/faction (the Predators, the Aliens and the Colonial Marines), that, while separate in terms of individual plot and gameplay, form one overarching storyline. Following the storyline of the campaign modes comes the multiplayer aspect of the game. In this Multiplayer section of the game, players face off in various game types in various ways. As in the films, the Predator prefers to stalk its prey from the safety of treetops and the gameplay reflects this, the player leaping from branch to branch automatically with the help of a "focus jumping" game mechanic. The Predator has different vision modes, the most recognizable from the films being a thermal imaging scanner, but the player also has different vision modes for spotting Aliens (only accessible from a special mask the player picks up in-game) and viewing the world normally. For example, the Heat Vision mode allows the player to see marines very clearly, while it renders Aliens nearly invisible; the Alien vision works in reverse, making aliens appear clearly and marines nearly invisible. Regular vision allows one to see the environment and other predators better than the former two visions, making battles between two or all three species a tactical juggle to prioritize enemies based on their threat to the player. The Predator’s gameplay is more based on stealth and tactics than the average first-person shooter. The player has to be aware of Aliens, which have the ability to see through a Predator's cloaking device, that may climb up a tree and attack from below as well as taking care not to reveal themselves to marines too early as the marines’ weaponry and numbers are more than a match for the Predator. For long-range weaponry, the Predator can use a shoulder-mounted plasma cannon in addition to a glaive-like disc and a combi stick (or throwing spear). For close-range combat, the Predator has four retractable wristblades on its arms. The wristblades allow for the Predator to perform a "trophy kill," a nod to the movies in which the Predators take trophies, usually skulls, from their defeated enemies to show their prowess in the hunt. OXM labeled the trophy kill mechanic as "spectacularly violent" and it has been partially censored to avoid an Adults Only rating in the United States as it was "several measures more graphic" than any other recent games. There are several animations, one of which is a "terrified" marine dragged into the center of the screen by his or her throat, which the Predator then snaps effortlessly with the accompanying sound of "someone biting into raw celery". The neck broken, the Predator decapitates the marine, a "sizeable portion" of the spinal cord following. Even after this, the marine is still alive for a short period of time, "gasping his last, with nothing but bloodied, glistening Vertebral column beneath his chin." A screenshot showing a player being attacked by a group of Aliens Jason Kingsley, the CEO of Rebellion, defended the brutality of the trophy-kill system, stating "This is obviously a game based on adult-rated movies, and we want to make sure it’s very clearly an adult-rated game. It's an issue for me; some computer games are for kids– we're not making a computer game here for anyone other than adults. That's very clear and within that context, I think the violence is part of the character and the world– so we're talking about a fantasy world here and fantasy creatures and we're talking about trying to build up a mythos. I remember the first time I saw it, one of the particular Predator kills, everyone went 'Oooh'. But it's what the Predator does in the movies." The Predator campaign explains how their species considers the war tactics of the human Marines juvenile. A quote from the intro states: "We are old, my brother. Our race is few and scattered. Our ancestry lost to myth. The humans are still children, creatures of desire and hubris, with no comprehension of the long hunt. Still, they make good sport. They have discovered a trophy long locked away. They must not be allowed to find the crucible that spawned our most respected prey. If they succeed, all life will succumb to the crawling dark...". Aliens fight in close-quarters with their claws and tails, getting as close as possible to their prey as quickly as possible. Aliens have the ability to climb walls and jump from distances without much effort, and can blend in with shadows, using darkness to their advantage. Within limited ranges, aliens can seek out prey through walls.

The fourth and final DLC pack was released in July 23, 2013. It features a new single-player campaign called Stasis Interrupted and was developed in collaboration between Gearbox Software and Darkside Game Studios. The new single player campaign add-on explores the tale of Corporal Hicks between Aliens and Alien 3 and explains his survival after the events from those films. The DLC also adds a series of several new achievements for players to unlock, which were initially revealed via the PS3 version of the game. During the events of Aliens Carter J.

The first mission starts out a bit slow. Follow the prompts as you head down the linear path. Eventually, you'll reach a fellow soldier named Keyes. He will be stuck on the side of a wall. Attempt to cut him down to meet the first Xenomorph. Rapidly tap which ever button is flashing on the screen to stay alive. The Xenomorph will run off, but that doesn't mean you're safe. Backtrack a little until you find and kill it. With it out of the way, return to Keyes and cut him down. Follow Keyes After a bit of dialogue, you'll move into the next room with Keyes. This next room will be filled with Xenos in a tight space, it may be best to switch to your Shotgun. In the right-back corner of the room is the first Dog Tag which belongs to Dwayne Hicks. You will most likely rank up around this time. If you do, pause the game and check out your Arsenal Upgrades. Unlock a new upgrade to earn both the Another Bug Hunt and Ready to Fry Half a City achievements / trophies. Continue to the next small room where the flight record is located. Retrieve it as Keyes watches your back. If you need them, a few rounds will be located nearby. Through the next door is a piece of armor. Pick it up to fill a bit of the armor gauge. Further up ahead is another small room with Xenomorphs. It'll be the same song and dance until you reach the hallway at the end of the room. Countless Xenos will start coming down the hall, climbing on both the walls and ceiling. Use the underbarrel grenade launcher to gib two at once. Try to kill them awhile on the walls. Doing these will unlock both the Adios, Muchachos and Coming Outta the Walls! achievements / trophies. When those have been completed, walk back to the next room. The next step is to defend Keyes alongside more men as he tries to unlock a door. Pick up any ammo, health and armor you may need near the door. If you can defeat all the Xenos without them crossing your barricade, you'll earn the Short, Controlled Bursts achievement / trophy. When the door is open, head through to activate a short scene. Follow O'Neal After a short scene, you'll be following O'Neal. Keep an eye out for any ammo and armor, and use the Motion Tracker to track any enemies around. Eventually, you'll reach a big room with a spinning object in the middle. Keep an eye on the vents up ahead, a few Xenos will climb out and attack. Kill them as they exit the vents to avoid any injury. If you can kill ten Xenos that climb out of vents (it will stack even after being killed), then you will unlock the Entry Prohibited achievement / trophy. The next area is a short hall with some ammo. The room to the right will contain another Xeno that jumps out of the vent on the ceiling. Be prepared with a shotgun to deal with it quickly. To the right is the first Audio Log of the game. Through the next door is the same room -- or perhaps a similar room -- as the one from earlier. Before going into that room, look for a Dog Tag on a desk near the door. Follow the path to the next area, but watch out for Xenos that will come out of the vents! The next room has many smaller rooms around. Investigate the rooms to the right to find a Legendary Weapon -- Hick's Shotgun. This will also unlock an achievement / trophy. Continue following O'Neal as you escape. The next door will require a bit of time to unlock. Protect him as he figures out the code. Try different weapons and upgrades as you progress. Don't forget about challenges! Eventually you'll reach the cargo bay. Follow O'Neal up the stairs, and keep an eye out for any Xenos. O'Neal will continue to get held up at doors from time to time. Reach the control room and blow the air locks to send the Aliens into space! This will set the mission to end, but there's still one more collectible. Quickly turn around and search the back area for a Dog Tag on top of a console.
